yearbooks   if you still wish to purchase a yearbook for the 2015-16 school year, the last day to pay online is friday, october 23^rd.

art house films   a new film is screened every wednesday at 4:30 in our theatre. There is a brief introduction by mr. white, and a group discussion will follow.

this week’s film is being john malkovich, directed by spike jones.

wwaag    The Westwood Collegiate Arts Advisory Group will have their first meeting on Thursday, October 22/15 at 7pm in the school library. All parents with a student(s) in an arts program are encouraged to attend.

take your kid to work day   it’s november 4^th. all grade 9 students have already received a permission form – it needs to be completed and returned to your english teacher asap.

grad craft sale  grade 12s are reminded to sign up to volunteer for the craft sale november 21^st. sign up outside of room 207.

minneapolis arts trip   The Minneapolis trip has been approved and there are only 11 seats left on the bus! Those students enrolled in first or second semester Visual Arts, Graphic Tech, or Photography courses and are in Grades 10-12 can see Mrs. Teichroew or Mr. Cichosz for information. Deadline for submitting a deposit to go is Friday, October 30th.

cafeteria   october 21^st is apple day. bring your own apple or buy one and try our new apple slicer. apple crisp for dessert.

heart & stroke   there will be a zumba class thursday during period 5. students can pay their period 5 teacher $2 in advance in order to attend.

pizza will be sold outside of the office wednesday at lunch. $2/slice.

the dance advanced students would like to thank everyone who donated to their cookie and hot chocolate sale on monday and tuesday.

parent teacher conferences   they take place october 26^th. parents can go online to book appointments.

sources of strength   Sources of the Strength meeting at lunch on Wednesday in the Student Services area. 

dance   the dance program is having a “pie the teacher” auction this wednesday in the cafeteria at lunch.  bidding starts at $3 and the highest bidder gets to pie the teacher! the first teacher up is mr. schmeichel. later we have mr. sdrolias, mr. penning and mr. alexiou. (and many more!)

drive students will be going to period 5 classes on wednesday to sell tickets. 200 must be sold or the dance will be cancelled.

post-secondary presentations   sign up outside of mr. fewer’s office to attend presentations by u of w, u of m and rrcc. you can also sign up for the university fair at sturgeon heights on november 5^th.

halloween dance   it’s october 29^th. tickets must be purchased in advance and will be available for $10 in front of the caf at lunch and after school.

volunteering   Any students looking for volunteer work and who would like to get a jump start on collecting their hours are asked to see Mr. Fewer for opportunities around the community.

boys soccer   Boys soccer training postponed. the First game of the season is Friday, October 30th.  Come and see Mr. Aguirre for any other details.

basketball    There will be a brief meeting today for all boys interested in playing basketball this year WHO ARE NOT CURRENTLY PLAYING VOLLEYBALL. The meeting will take place right at 12:05 in room 209 (Mr. Alexiou's room).

girls hockey   Good luck to our girls hockey team as they take on Lorette today at Keith Bodley. Girls are to be dismissed at 2:45 pm for their game.

There will be a mandatory team meeting at lunch today.

basketball    Any athlete who played basketball last year and wants their name bar that was up in the gym please see Mr. Schmeichel.
