blood donor clinic   on october 26th at lunch, the blood bus is coming to pick up students who are over 17.   you can sign up in the office – there are currently 3 spots left.

national residential school awareness day    it’s this friday. students are asked to wear orange to raise awareness of canada’s history of residential schools. in canada, from 1876-1996, an estimated 150,000 children were placed in government sponsored, church-run schools with the objective of assimilating these children away from their families and into the CANADIAN CULTURE.

THE WESTWOOD CULTURE CLUB WILL BE HOSTING AN OPEN HOUSE IN ROOM 215 ON SEPTEMBER 30TH. THERE WILL BE MUSICAL PERFORMANCES, DRUMMING, BANNOCK, A SCAVENGER HUNT AND SMUDGING. PERMISSION FORMS ARE AVAILABLE IN ROOM 215, AND ARE NECESSARY TO PARTICIPATE IN SMUDGING ACTIVITIES.

STAY TUNED FOR ANNOUNCEMENTS AND INFORMATION THROUGHOUT THE SCHOOL ALL WEEK.

girls hockey   Congratulations to the girls hockey team who remains undefeated in the placement tournament.  The girls dominated Sanford in game 1 beating them 6-1. In game 2 the girls tied Miles Mac outshooting them 28-10.

 

The girls finish off their tournament today when they play St Mary's at the iceplex. Girls are to go to period 6 for attendance and collect any homework.

 

ultimate   All Ultimate players need to hand in their medical forms and permission slips to Ms. Klassen in Room 123 in order to play in the game against SJR on Tuesday.

 

Deposits for uniform orders should also be brought to Ms. Klassen as soon as possible.
