mlcc   representatives from manitoba liquor control commission will be here march 23rd to speak to grade 12 students at 10am regarding safe grad. they will be back at 6pm that day to speak to parents.

 

the event   The Event will take place on March 18th, 7pm—tickets will be on sale february 27th in front of the office at lunch. $15 for tickets on the floor, and $12 on the balcony.  Performing students involved be sure to attend all rehearsals.  Additional parent and grad info can be found on the school website.

all grade 12 students are to bring in $5 for the silent auction. you can bring it to the office, or to joanna, hunter or alissa.

ringette   All members of the Westwood Girls Ringette team are asked to attend a brief meeting at 12:05 today in Mr. Penning's room 117.

badminton   Any grades 9-12 boys and girls wanting to try out for the school Badminton team are asked to attend a brief meeting at 3:30 today in room 117.

curling   Congratulations to our boy's curling team for their performance at provincials this past weekend.  The boys lost their first game by 1 point in an extra end and went on to win their next 2 games.  They played very well in their last game but lost Virden Friday night.  The boys represented our school very well and should be proud of their game play and sportsmanship all weekend.

Second to none! our grade 10 band continued the winning ways as they also brought home a trophy! a special thank you to Mr. Edwards for his continued time, efforts and leadership guiding our students to success!

Attention grade 11 Indigenous students: Are you interested in a career in science or engineering? If that is you, there is an excellent program at University of Manitoba that you must apply for! Chosen candidates will get to spend a week on campus at the U of M U BC or University of Saskatchewan where you will interact with scientists and their research laboratories. All expenses are paid, its a fabulous opportunity for anyone planning on perusing science or engineering.

Please see a science teacher for more information on how you can apply. Application deadline is this Friday, February 17th.
