mrs. russell   Congratulations to our very own Ms. Russell who was awarded the Michael Proudfoot award at last night's Gala concert for the Winnipeg Music Festival.  Established in 2007, this Award is presented in recognition of a conductor who exemplifies a passion for excellence in choral work in the province of Manitoba.  Anyone who has ever had the chance to sing in one of her choirs, or to be in one of her classes, immediately recognizes that she is an extremely passionate and gifted educator and conductor who is very giving of her time both in and out of the classroom.   Besides directing the choral program at Westwood Collegiate, she directs the St.James-Assiniboia Divisional Jr. Choir and is on the board of the Manitoba Choral Association and was recently part of the Province Of Manitoba in Curriculum Development team for the new high-school Arts Curriculum.
