early dismissal this afternoon

yearbooks   if you still wish to purchase a yearbook for the 2015-16 school year, the last day to pay online is friday, october 23^rd.

art house films   a new film is screened every wednesday at 4:30 in our theatre. There is a brief introduction by mr. white, and a group discussion to follow.

this week’s film is being john malkovich, directed by spike jones.

pick up a permission form in the drama room.

take your kid to work day   it’s november 4^th. all grade 9 students have already received a permission form – it needs to be completed and returned to your english teacher asap.

grad craft sale  grade 12s are reminded to sign up to volunteer for the craft sale november 21^st. sign up outside of room 207.

cafeteria   october 21^st is apple day. bring your own apple or buy one and try our new apple slicer. apple crisp for dessert.

heart & stroke   back by popular demand, today at lunch and after school, dance students will be selling cookies and hot chocolate with all proceeds going to the heart and stroke foundation. 50 cents for a cookie, one dollar for hot chocolate, or 1.25 for both.

there will be a zumba class thursday during period 5. students can pay their period 5 teacher $2 in advance in order to attend.

parent teacher conferences   they take place october 26^th. parents can go online to book appointments.

sources of strength   Sources of the Strength meeting at lunch on Wednesday in the Student Services area. 

dance   the dance program is having a “pie the teacher” auction this wednesday in the cafeteria at lunch.  bidding starts at $3 and the highest bidder gets to pie the teacher! the first teacher up is mr. schmeichel. later we have mr. sdrolias, mr. penning and mr. alexiou. (and many more!)

post-secondary presentations   sign up outside of mr. fewer’s office to attend presentations by u of w, u of m and rrcc. you can also sign up for the university fair at sturgeon heights on november 5^th.

halloween dance   it’s october 29^th. tickets must be purchased in advance and will be available for $10 in front of the caf at lunch and after school.

volunteering   Any students looking for volunteer work and who would like to get a jump start on collecting their hours are asked to see Mr. Fewer for opportunities around the community.

boys soccer   Boys soccer training is Wednesday, October 21st at 17:30 at Lincoln. First game of the season in Friday, October 30th.  Come and see Mr. Aguirre for any other details.

boys hockey   congrats to the boys for their 5-1 win over lorette last night.
