mission to mexico   The Mission to Mexico Team has raised enough money to donate 10 Christmas Hampers to the students and families of  the School of Champions, who live in the poorest communities around Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Thank you to all the Westwood students and staff who supported theirpla fundraiser!

basketball   Congratulations to the varsity girls basketball team for placing 7th in a 16 team tournament this past weekend. Special congrats go out to Brianna Hayward for her tournament all star.

congrats to the vb basketball team for a successful tournament in brandon. they played some tough competition but played some great basketball and are poised to have a great season.

hockey   Congratulations to the girls hockey team who won the b side finals against sturgeon beating them 7-0. The girls played some of the top teams and competed hard every game.
Just a reminder that the girls have practice today at 330 and are to be dismissed at 3:15.
boys – congrats to the boys hockey team – they brought home the 3rd place plaque in the crocus plains division. they defeated some very strong teams, including sjr1. well done!

drive   Due to scheduling issues, the lip dub competition  has been delayed until the first week of school in January.  Groups will now be given the opportunity to film their lip dub or choose to perform it live.  The $100 in Polo Park gift cards will still be the grand prize.  Please continue to sign up for the competition in order to register and obtain song approval.

family feud takes place december 12th at lunch. the first four teams to sign up outside of the office will be participating.

volunteer opportunity   kwcc needs volunteers for their sunday skates, every sunday from 1-2 pm. students need to be on the ice supervising young skaters. come to the office for more information.

aida   it runs december 8-13, at 7 pm. tickets are $12, available in the library.

cafeteria   Wednesday – hot apple crisp with whipping cream, thursday – fingers and fries

arts   Visual Arts, Graphic Technology, and Photography students will be displaying their artwork Monday through Thursday each week on stage in the Cafeteria.

YiP is meeting this Wednesday after school to plan our YiP in Action Grant Proposal.  Please try to attend as we make plans for our exciting project.

Blood Donors will have a very quick meeting on Wednesday at noon just outside the office right after the lunch bell.

curling   it was a clean sweep night!  congrats to our teams – ww2 led the way with a 9-0 victory over st. james. ww1 boys team defeated sturgeon heights 9-2, westwood girls had a big come from behind victory, stealing 3 in the final end to defeat vincent massey 1 8-5.

hockey   Congratulations to the girls hockey team who beat Sturgeon Heights 5-2.  Goals were scored by Melissa, Kyla who had 2 and Nikki who had the other two goals. Thank you to the staff and all the fans that gave the girls an extra step in yesterday’s game. You made Westwood proud. 

The girls will have dryland today at 2:45pm in the fitness center.
