sound of music    Tickets for our production of The Sound of Music are on sale in the library.
Tickets cost $15.00 each, and are sold on a first-come-first-served basis.  Payment may be made by cash or cheque payable to Westwood Collegiate.  No credit cards or debit accepted.  Seat selection will take place at time of purchase.  Your ticket order receipt and confirmation will be forwarded by email, and/or tickets can be printed in the library of point of sale.

watersheds contest   Congratulations to Anna for placing first in the Caring for our Watersheds contest!  Her project was #1 out of 258 entries.  She placed top 10 with her written proposal and clinched the top place after her oral presentation at Oak Hammock Marsh. She has won $1000 for her proposal "Greener Paving". Her next step will be to implement the project in a section of the Westwood Collegiate parking lot.  Excellent work! 

kjersten    Congratulations to Kjersten, who has been invited to perform at the Meridian Arts Festival Highlights Concert, and has also been recommended to compete in the Manitoba Provincial Music Festival for her rendition of an Oscar Peterson song on the piano.

                                    tuesday – white t-shirt decorating day
wednesday – way-back wednesday (neon/80s theme), retro music in caf
thursday – gym riot in the afternoon (attendance taken at 1:10)

grad   The safe grad parent committee is having a Pancake Breakfast fundraiser on Saturday May 2nd at the Applebees at Grant Park. Tickets are $15, and will be available next week for sale. We are looking for a number of grade 12 volunteers for this event. Sign up sheet is outside of room 207.

Career Talks    These presentations are open to all students at Westwood, they will address career specific information such as what the job is, how much can you make, what kind of training or schooling do you need and what do you need coming out of high school.  The first 2 talks are Engineering and Medical Rehabilitation (physio, occupational and respiratory therapies).  Please sign up outside of Ms Bennett's office if you're interested.

u of m   The U of M presentation for gr 12s who have already applied has been rescheduled for Wednesday, April 29th at 1:10

Teddy Bear's Picnic   Is looking for volunteers on May 31st for face painting, crafts, souvenir sales, and general help. Sign up with Ms Bennett is you're interested.

Pisa   Those students in G.10 writing the PISA assessment on Wednesday are reminded to bring a calculator and pencil.

volunteer hours   anyone looking for volunteer hours, or who would like to get paid at volleyball provincials next weekend at john taylor – see mr. schmeichel.

Boys rugby  All members of the boys rugby team are reminded to submit their permission forms and athletic fees as soon as possible.
