sound of music    Tickets for our production of The Sound of Music are on sale in the library.
Tickets cost $15.00 each, and are sold on a first-come-first-served basis.  Payment may be made by cash or cheque payable to Westwood Collegiate.  No credit cards or debit accepted.  Seat selection will take place at time of purchase.  Your ticket order receipt and confirmation will be forwarded by email, and/or tickets can be printed in the library of point of sale.
           
spirit week     Thursday – whiteout for the jets
                                    friday – gym riot dodgeball in the gym
                                    Monday – pj day and McRelay in the gym at lunch
                                    tuesday – white t-shirt decorating day
wednesday – way-back wednesday (neon/80s theme), retro music in caf
thursday – gym riot in the afternoon (attendance taken at 1:10)

math contest    there will be a brief 5 minute meeting in room 117 at 12:05 Friday to quickly go over the results of the past National Math Contest.

yip   today is the last day to participate in the battleship fundraiser.
sales will end at 1:10 in front of the caf.

grad   The safe grad parent committee is having a Pancake Breakfast fundraiser on Saturday May 2nd at the Applebees at Grant Park. Tickets are $15, and will be available next week for sale. We are looking for a number of grade 12 volunteers for this event. Sign up sheet is outside of room 207.

united way   Any Grade 11 students interested in being considered for this year's United Way Community Service Award should see Mr. Braun this week for information.

gsa   Participants who signed up to take part in the GSA Super Hero Night on Friday, please remember to bring your potluck items.

Career Symposium   Grade 11s, permission forms for the Winnipeg Rotary Career Symposium are in the student services wait room.  They are due back by April 17th - no later. This is a great opportunity to speak to schools, companies and professionals who work in an industry you may be interested in.

Career Talks    These presentations are open to all students at Westwood, they will address career specific information such as what the job is, how much can you make, what kind of training or schooling do you need and what do you need coming out of high school.  The first 2 talks are Engineering and Medical Rehabilitation (physio, occupational and respiratory therapies).  Please sign up outside of Ms Bennett's office if you're interested.

blood donor clinic   Here's your chance to be a Life Saver by donating blood on Friday, April 17.  The shuttle bus will pick us up at 12:00 noon and we will return at approximately 2:30. Sign up sheet and permission forms are in the office.

Teddy Bear's Picnic   Is looking for volunteers on May 31st for face painting, crafts, souvenir sales, and general help. Sign up with Ms Bennett is you're interested.

boys outdoor soccer  The first game is on Monday, April 20th at Gordon Bell.

talen   congrats to talen for winning the travis price award for high school hockey. the award is presented to the player who is:
•           A leader who works hard, plays hard, and has a healthy balance between work and play
•           Honest, of good character, enjoys learning new things, is a friend to all and is a bonding agent for the team
•           Encourages and assists teammates to get along with each other rather than focusing on differences and conflict.

badminton   No games

Intramurals   no games – gym riot dodgeball at 12:05. if you miss your team’s first game, you’re disqualified from playing in further games. be on time!!


a fit bit was found last week. It can be picked up in the office.
