grade 12 meeting   There will be a very important information session for all grade 12s who have been accepted into the U of W and the U of M on Thursday May 19th.

This is an essential meeting to prepare future students for their first semester in university and all those who have been accepted should attend.

 

Lists of accepted students will be posted outside Mr. Fewer's office in Student Services

convocation comments   the deadline is past due but there are still a lot of grads who haven’t handed their comments in. pick up a blank form from the office.

 

safe grad   parents of Grade 12 students are asked for a donation, either monetary or prizes, for the silent auction at safe grad. donations can be dropped off in our school office, preferably by june 15th

 

grad dinner tickets are now available on-line to purchase, please pay and bring your receipt to pick your table. you can select your seats May 31 (A-L) and June 1^st (M-Z).

 

Yearbook club   The Yearbook Photography club is canceled today. The next, and last meeting, is on Thursday, May 26 after school.

 

Digital arts club   The last meeting of the year will be next Wednesday, May 25 after school.

 

drop the device   tadd is sponsoring distraction-free day. it’s may 19^th and you’re encouraged to drop your device for 6 hours. if you can do that, you can survive a car ride without it.

sign the pledge form in front of the office on May 19^th between 8 and 8:30 for your chance to win a prize.

 

volunteer opportunity   fort whyte alive is looking for camp counsellors. Check student services for more information.

 

paint night   our next fundraiser is wednesday, may 25 from 7-9 pm in the art room.  cost is $30, first come, first served. reserve your spot by emailing to kzapotochny@sjsd.net.

 

dancescapes    it takes place june 12 at 7:30 pm at mtyp at the forks. tickets are available on the school website.

 

WSU   flowers will be sold at lunch for $2 – all proceeds go to canadian mental health association.

 

Join the WSU for Mental Health Month for a session of Yoga and Meditation on Thursday, May 19th in the Cave at lunch.

 

The WSU May Mental Health Month Art Competition has now started! See the bulletin board outside the art room for details! Contest due date is Friday, May 27th.

 

Students interested in taking part in a Mental Health workshop are asked to stop by the office and sign up. This workshop will be an hour long and take place on thursday, May 26^th from 1-2pm. More details will be provided to interested students.

westfest is may 27th   sign up on the student council board.

 

community service hours   Grade 12 students applying for awards and scholarships are reminded to submit their community involvement activity log forms.  Students need 40 hours logged to qualify for a St. James-Assiniboia Diploma.  Log forms are available in the office and, when signed by supervisor, can be returned to the office.

 

Any students wanting to volunteer at the Teddy Bear picnic on May 29^th can see Ms. Sheldon to sign up. 

 

boys soccer   all team members are to wear their jersey to room 208 thursday at lunch for a team photo.

 

track   the outdoor track and field team had an outstanding day yesterday at the royal rumble in selkirk. notable performances were from ryan and melissa (they both finished in 1^st in shotput). the team competes today at grant park. they will be dismissed for period 6.

 

sports awards banquet   Any student who played on a sports team this year please is to see your coach for your sports banquet ticket.  Please see the coach you played for first!

 

sports camp scholarships   any athletes looking to apply for a sports camp scholarship are asked to pick up an application form in the office.

 

beach volleyball   There will be a Beach volleyball practice  Thursday at 3:30.  You must have your permission forms and money in by Thursday's practice or else you will not be able to play.
