bells off this morning   because of ib english exams.

report cards   pick yours up in the office if you didn’t receive it friday.

paint night   our next fundraiser is wednesday, may 25 from 7-9pm in the art room.  cost is $30, first come, first served. reserve your spot by emailing to kzapotochny@sjsd.net.

math contest   meet in room 115 at lunch tuesday.

cafeteria   thursday’s special is teriyaki chicken, rice and stir-fried vegetables.

drama   grade 9, period 3 class is in the cave.

watersheds   Congratulations to Hunter and Alissa for their first place finish, and Delaney for her fourth place finish, at the Caring for our Watersheds contest this weeked at Oak Hammock Marsh.  The students will receive cash awards and will now implement their projects, a watershed dance awareness show and and underwater cleanup of Falcon Lake.

career symposium   if you have your permission form, hand it in to the office.

Grad Parent meeting   there will be a very important meeting Thursday, may 5th at 7pm in our school cafeteria for parents of all Grade 12 students. Information regarding dinner ticket purchasing, safe grad and important upcoming dates will be provided. there will also be a presentation from mlcc regarding liquor laws as they relate to safe grad. also at this meeting, you will have the opportunity to sign up to volunteer at safe grad.
there will also be a meeting at 10am for all grade 12 students. the same topics will be covered.

orlando   students are selling mom’s pantry and they would love your support! please see one of the orlando students to get your delicious mom’s pantry products!

mental health month   The WSU will be hosting a Mental Health Month Candlelight Vigil on May 5th at the front of the school starting at 7PM. Everyone is welcome to come and share their stories, take part in a mask-making activity and enjoy some refreshments. Parents, staff and community members are welcome as well.

Students helping with the WSU Mental Health Month are asked to attend lunch hour meetings on Monday, Wednesday and Friday in the art room.

Soccer camp   If you are interested in working or volunteering at a soccer camp in the summer, please see Ms. Sheldon for more details.

assignments   the last date to hand in assignments is june 10.

westfest is may 27th   sign up on the student council board.

united way volunteer award   Any G.11 student interested in applying for this year's United Way Volunteer Award is to see Mr. Braun.  Application deadline is May 2.

community service hours   Grade 12 students applying for awards and scholarships are reminded to submit their community involvement activity log forms.  Students need 40 hours logged to qualify for a St. James-Assiniboia Diploma.  Log forms are available in the office and, when signed by supervisor, can be returned to the office.

Any students wanting to volunteer at the Teddy Bear picnic on May 29th can see Ms. Sheldon to sign up. 

job opportunities   djays is looking for students to work in their kitchen. either apply in person or come to the office for more info.
st. charles golf course is looking for people to work in housekeeping. apply in person or email to subash.bahl@stccc.ca.

drive student council   application forms for next year are available in the office. they are due back by may 6th.

rugby    Boys Rugby team members are to see Mr. Braun to obtain their game jersey for today's games.

golf   see mr. schmeichel by noon today.

Ultimate   Players travelling to Oshawa are reminded to get their forms in to Mr. Shoesmith ASAP.
