pre-exam meditation sessions    Mr. Sdrolias invites all students to prepare for exams by participating in meditation sessions, beginning January 27th.  They are only 10 minutes in duration.  Morning sessions begin EXACTLY at 8:00 am and afternoon sessions at 12:30 pm.  Students must be in the CAVE by 7:55 am and 12:25 pm, respectively.  Late students will not be allowed to enter.

January 26 12:00-1:05---- Doors in 106 open over lunch--- anyone needing to chat, debrief or strategize re: exam stress

grade 9 meeting   all grade 9 students will be called to the theatre for a short meeting today at 2pm.

 

exam schedule   All students, please check and confirm with your teachers the date, time, and location of your exams.

Exam day seating plans will be posted outside the office on Thursday, January 26th in the afternoon.  This will also include students with conflicts.

 

grad photos   they will take place february 13-17. the cost is $60 which includes the sitting fee and gown rental.   sign up outside of room 207. know your semester 2 timetable so that you can sign up on a spare.

 

ib group 4 project   all grade 11 students working on the project are to go to room 218 after announcements.

 

student council coffee house   it’s february 26^th at the daily grind. if you’d like to perform, sign up on the student council board at the front door.

winter choral concert “sure on this shining night” - it’s january 19th in our theatre from 7-8:15pm. This concert is a fundraiser.

Donate to Siloam Mission to win Jets Tix. for the Chicago Blackhawks game Feb. 10th! Draw takes place at the concert this Thursday!

 

attendance   students are reminded that if they are going to miss three or more days of school, they need to fill out the appropriate paperwork, which is available online or in the office.

also, if students are late, they must receive a late slip from the office.

 

extra help   room 117 is open tuesdays and wednesdays from 12:15 to 1pm for extra help and study time for all subjects! 

 

volunteer opportunity   Anyone who still needs volunteer hours or would like to get some. The Jets youth program needs students to help fit grade 3 students for equipment at Keith Bodley Arena this Thursday and Friday.

There are to shifts one from 9:15-9:45 am and 1:15-1:45pm

girls hockey   Congratulations to the girls hockey team who defeated second place Selkirk last night in an overtime shootout. Goals were scored by Signy, Jamie, and the over time winner by Amanda. Emily  stood tall once again for the Warriors saving all three shots in the shootout.

Girls have practice today at 4:40pm 

 

All Star is this Sunday. We have 3 girls who will be representing Westwood. Alicia, Claudia, and Jamie.
