Grad Parent meeting
there will be a very important meeting
Thursday, may 5th at 7pm in our school cafeteria for parents of all Grade 12
students. Information regarding dinner ticket purchasing, safe grad and important
upcoming dates will be provided. there will also be a presentation from mlcc
regarding liquor laws as they relate to safe grad. also at this meeting, you
will have the opportunity to sign up to volunteer at safe grad.
assignments the last date to hand in
assignments is june 10.
period 3 challenge it continues to the end of
the month. we’re collecting money or donations of grad-suitable gowns, shoes
and accessories. all donations go to gowns for grads.
united way volunteer award Any G.11
student interested in applying for this year's United Way Volunteer Award is to
see Mr. Braun. Application deadline is
May 2.
community service hours Grade 12 students applying for awards and
scholarships are reminded to submit their community involvement activity log
forms. Students need 40 hours logged to
qualify for a St. James-Assiniboia Diploma.
Log forms are available in the office and, when signed by supervisor,
can be returned to the office.
Any students wanting to volunteer at the Teddy Bear
picnic on May 29th can see Ms. Sheldon to sign up.
job opportunities djays is looking for
students to work in their kitchen. either apply in person or come to the office
for more info.
st. charles golf course is looking for people to work
in housekeeping. apply in person or email to subash.bahl@stccc.ca.
drive student council application forms for next
year are available in the office. they are due back by may 6th.
rotary career symposium Grade 11 students who are
interested in attending the Rotary Career Symposium on May 4th are to pick up a
permission form in the Student Services area.
If you have questions, please ask Mr. Fewer or Ms. Sheldon.

forms are due Tuesday April 26th.
drive 4ur school our grad committee is
sponsoring this event – come out wednesday, april 20th from 9-6 to
test drive a ford. our grads can earn up to $6000. see the poster on our website or around our
school.
Anyone 18yrs.or older can sign the waiver and go for
a test drive.
Ford will require a parent to be present and a form
to be signed if student driver is under 18.
There is only one test drive allowed per household,
and if students were the ones planning on driving, we now need the parent
to come if student is under 18.
go hungry 24 hour famine ib & drive are hosting the fundraiser for
rwanda and east africa. it will take place april 21st. sign up on
the IB board in front of the office.
ultimate photos There will be a combined
varsity/JV ultimate team picture on April 29 at 12:00pm in the photography
studio. Please wear your new light
jersey and shorts for the picture.
rugby girls rugby practices wednesday at 3:45,
pick up your revised game schedules in the office.
badminton Congrats to the Westwood
badminton Team for its 2nd place finish overall in total Team points at last
night’s zone playoffs. Top performances include:
Brooklyn and Evan who finished 1st
in the zone in mixed doubles
Derek and Jeremy who finished 2nd in
boys doubles
Sydney and Kyla who finished 3rd in girls
doubles
Also good luck to these teams as they will compete in
provincials in 2 weeks.
