will begin october 1st – morning classes begin at 9 am.
day of pink on
friday, September 27th, westwood will be having a day of pink. we will be
collecting donations in front of the office throughout the day to help cover
the costs of tracey herms’ cancer treatment. tracey is the mom of two of our
westwood peers, and her oldest daughter graduated last year. please show your
support on this day by wearing pink and dropping off a donation in fromt of the
office.
chicago arts trip Students
attending the Chicago Arts Tour need to stop by the artroom to pick up an
information package.
europe trip There
will be a meeting Friday at noon for all students going to Europe with EF Tours
this spring with Mr. Picknicki. The
meeting will be held in room 214 so bring your lunch.
youth in philanthropy
are you interested in helping out within your community? if you would
like to have a voice in decisions involving issues in the city, come to yip’s
first meeting this friday at 8 am in student services.
dance dance company auditions
will be today at 3:45 in the dance studio. all interested students are welcome.
photography/yearbook club The
yearbook/photography club will meet on Thursday after school in room 210.
Members unable to attend should see MR. Cichosz prior to the meeting.
MATH EXTRA HELP Extra help will take place every Tues and
Wed at lunch in room 115 from 12:15 to 1:00.
All students are welcome. If
there are any grade 11 and 12 students that are interested in tutoring, you can
see Mrs. Nemetchek about available opportunities. contact mrs. nemetchek at jnemetchek@sjsd.net if you are interested in math tutoring.

gay/straight alliance The
Westwood Gay Straight Alliance will be meeting Wednesdays after school in the
art room. Everyone is welcome.

soccer begins today. check the schedule outside of the gym.
girls indoor soccer There
will be a girls indoor soccer parent meeting Wednesday at 5:00 in room 214.
girls hockey Good
luck to our girls hockey team as they play their first exhibition game against
Oak Park. We love to see our loyal fans out.
Girls are to be dismissed at 3:00pm
volleyball Congrats
to the JV Boys team for winning their first game of the year against St James,
way to go guys!
