tuesday   late start and early dismissal today

 

iceland   the trip is sold out! see mr. shoesmith or ms. eyjolfson to be placed on a wait list.

 

day of pink   it’s april 12th. wear pink to support anti-bullying initiatives in our school, our community and beyond.

 

sources of strength   Art supplies being offered by Sources of Strength for students to create an art piece with the theme mental health.  Please sign up outside of Student Services or Room.  If you have questions, please see Ms. Sheldon.

 

cafeteria   thursday – sweet and sour chicken or green curry chicken, all with rice and veggies.

 

parent council   The April Parent Council meeting will take place on Wednesday April 19th at 7pm in the Library.

 

aidan   Congratulations go out this morning to our very own Aidan who was named yesterday as the top rhythm section player of the 2017 Brandon Jazz Festival.  Way to go Aidan.  With this honour, Aidan also receives a $150 Scholarship to the University of Manitoba summer Jazz Camp.

 

flota   Tickets are on sale for this year's presentation of FLOTA: Artists United.  Tickets are $15 each or a table of 8 for $110.  They will be available in front of the office today after school, Wednesday and Thursday at lunch.  They will also be available from Ms. Lontajo in the library on Thursday and Friday from 8:30-3 pm excluding the lunch hours.  Buy your tickets early to get the seats you want as they are over 60% sold and going fast!  Come experience the Arts programming at Westwood.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   

volunteer opportunity   if you need community service hours and would like the pleasure of watching your fellow students perform, you can earn 4 hours by being an usher or server at flota on april 10th. see mr. white for more info.

 

grad news:  safe grad paperwork is available in the office if you didn’t receive it at the meeting.

 

grad pancake breakfast is April 9th from 9:30-11:30 at DJay’s. tickets are $15 and available from student and parent committee members. any student that volunteered to help out at the pancake breakfast on Sunday April 9th to please be there at 8:45am and to wear either Westwood grad clothing or other Westwood branded clothing.

 

grad retakes - If you are still wanting to get grad re-takes and have not yet signed up, please see Ms.Walterson about booking at time at the LifeTouch location.

 

Mom's Pantry orders will be ready for pick up this Friday afternoon in front of the office.

 

art house films   they’re back for semester 2!  movies run every Wednesday at 4pm. permission slips are available outside of the drama studio. This week – the godfather part 2. next week we’ll be showing citizen kane.

 

make club is on thursdays after school in room 218. come try some 3d printing!

 

mini warriors   There will be a very important meeting for all mini warriors volleyball and basketball coach volunteers today at lunch in the gym.

 

curling   All curlers are reminded that our wind-up is this Thursday at Boston Pizza.  Please see Mrs. Nemetchek to let her know if you will be coming and to pay the fee. 

 

Girls rugby   girls rugby will have their first outdoor practice Monday at 3:45 in the field. Bring your mouth guard , cleats and prepare for the weather!

 

Ringette   there will be a Westwood Ringette Team Meeting today (Tuesday) at 12:05 in Mr Penning's room.

 

badminton   Practice today (Tuesday) at 2:45 for all Boys and Girls doubles players.

 

track   Track practice after school Wednesday and Thursday at 3:30.
