social studies With the 100th anniversary of the beginning of the First
World War, the Westwood Collegiate Social Studies department is planning a
Canadian Battlefields Tour in March 2014.
The 10 day tour of Northern France and southern Belgium will include: Passchendaele, In Flanders Field Museum, The
Last Post Ceremony at the Menin Gate Memorial, Vimy Memorial, and other First
World War cemeteries, museums, monuments and battlefields. See the information posted outside Mr.
Picknicki's room

– tacos & kd, wednesday – pasta & cupcakes, Thursday – lasagne (meat
& veggie), friday – fingers and fries. the cafeteria will be open monday to
thursday during exam week from 7:45 until 1:30 every day with a full menu.

basketball good
luck to our Varsity Boys Basketball team at 2:45pm for their game at Elmwood.
Anyone interested in volunteer hours or
payment - we are looking for a student to film basketball games. any interested students should see Mr.Ross.
fitness competitions all
students are invited to come to the gym at lunch to watch the first westwood
fitness games. there will be student teams and teacher team.
