grade wars today is
grade war day! Wear your grade colour to receive points for your grade. the
grade with the most points at the end of the year will win a prize.

national residential school awareness day
it’s this friday. students are asked to wear
orange to raise awareness of canada’s history of residential schools. in
canada, from 1876-1996, an estimated 150,000 children were placed in government
sponsored, church-run schools with the objective of assimilating these children
away from their families and into the CANADIAN CULTURE.
THE WESTWOOD CULTURE CLUB WILL BE HOSTING AN OPEN HOUSE IN ROOM 215
ON SEPTEMBER 30TH. THERE WILL BE MUSICAL PERFORMANCES, DRUMMING,
BANNOCK, A SCAVENGER HUNT AND SMUDGING. PERMISSION FORMS ARE AVAILABLE IN ROOM
215, AND ARE NECESSARY TO PARTICIPATE IN SMUDGING ACTIVITIES.

attend U of M's Engineering Outreach Day october 18, with 2 more dates to
follow, for a full day of presentations and hands on experience in design and

bicycles Bikes should not be brought to school unless they can be secured
with a heavy duty lock.
Students bringing bikes to school need to use a heavy duty solid
steel u - shaped locks. Cable locks can
be cut. We had an incident recently
where a 30 year-old pedestrian cut a cable lock and stole a bike from our rack.
Community Police have been informed.
