cas students are asking their fellow
westwood student to contribute clothing to “my friend’s closet, a charity in
which teenagers help other teenagers by donating clothing that they would wear
themselves. either new or gently used, and no underwear or socks. there is a
donation box in front of the office. please donate by friday, november 20th.

anti-bullying week
This week is anti-bullying week and we
would like to put a positive spin on it.
Each day, we will challenge the student body with a small task. Today we encourage you to say hello to
someone who you do not know.
art house films a new film is screened
every wednesday at 4:30 in our theatre. There is a brief introduction by mr. white,
and a group discussion will follow.
this week’s film is citizen kane. pick up a
permission form in the drama room.
job opportunity There is a job opportunity
at the Holiday Inn Airport West for a Recreational pool and playarea
supervisor. Please see Ms. Sheldon for
more information. Applicants must be at
least 16 years old.
drama coffee house (open dialogue: some of the
things you wanted to know about life but were afraid to ask). it’s november 19th
and 20th at 7pm. suitable for grades 9 & up. admission is $2 or $1 with a food donation.
grad craft sale it’s coming up on november
21st. grade 12 students are reminded that they are asked to
contribute baking for the bake sale – it’s due november 20th in the
morning.
westwood arts hoodies Westwood Arts hoodie orders
are due Monday, November 23rd. Order forms are in the office. Hand them in with
payment to Mrs. Teichroew in the art room.
library Student current photo ID card is required in
order to sign out library materials and for requesting computer log in.
arts wear students who have already
ordered their arts hoodie can go to the art room at lunch to try on a sample
for sizing.
sources of strength Join the students of the
Sources of Strength in highlighting the “healthy activities” section of the SOS
wheel by writing your healthy activity on the large paper in the cafeteria.
grad craft sale grade 12s are reminded to
sign up to volunteer for the craft sale november 21st. sign up

minneapolis arts trip Students going on the Minneapolis
Arts Tour need to see Mrs. Teichroew in the art room for the Peak of the Market
fundraiser form.
volunteering Any students looking for
volunteer work and who would like to get a jump start on collecting their hours
are asked to see Mr. Fewer for opportunities around the community.
basketball Any boys in grade 9 and 10 interested in trying out
for the boys basketball team please show up to the first tryout tonight (Monday
night) from 7-8:30. If you are not able to make it please see mr. Schmeichel in
the gym.
volleyball Congratulations
to Ethan who was selected as a West Winnipeg Athletic Conference All Star last
week. Good luck to both varsity boys and varsity girls teams in their
provincial AAAA wildcard games today.
girls hockey Congratulations
to the girls hockey team who beat Oak Park 3-2 to put them into 3rd place in
the A Division. Alicia Prociuk had 2 goals and Delaney Rosentreter had the go ahead
goal.
The girls’ next game is Wednesday at 2:45
at River Heights Arena where they play Kelvin.
boys hockey congrats to out boys for
their 5-0 win over dakota thursday night.
intramurals 1
on 1 Basketball starts today. If you signed up please be ready to play by 12:15
today.
